Hello, I will have two options available for me after christmas.

I could A, Upgrade my R7 360 to something better like an R9 380 (or x) after selling the 360 and add that money to the other money I will get or,

I could build myself a new system for lower end games like Crysis and stuff. My plan is to call it the Shits 'n' Giggles PC (as I am building it for fun and is only really for taking to friends houses rather than taking my full set up with me)

The specs will (hopefully) include:

-AMD Phenom ii x3 or x6 (Socket AM3)

-Motherboard BIOSTAR TA790GX 128M A3 AM3 AM2 DDR2

-16GB of DDR2 Ram

-Any crossfire or SLI card in the cheaper price range (£50 and below for both cards)

-A small capacity HDD to install linux Ubuntu

-Really bad case for less than £20

Any Ideas on the GPU's because I have no clue but would like to get two Nvidia GTX 260's. If this can be sorted then the PSU can be too.

Note: I want to spend a VERY, VERY, VERY SMALL AMOUNT (Sub £150) on this as it is just for fun

Thanks, Brennan Price

Well, I thought the 260's in SLI could play the origional crysis at 1080p at around 30 fps tops. However I am open to be proved wrong but I'm sure I saw a video on the 260 and it could play origional crysis at medium-high settings.

Note: My monitor is only 1280x1024 so its not exactly high end.

Just build one good ITX PC to do both jobs

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yes but what I am saying is that I already own a decent gaming pc but for fun I would like to make another pc to take to a friends house for lan etc. However I do not want to break my pc in anyway by constant use/movement (I do not have an SSD in my system) so I would like to build a machine I am less likely to care for/about as much.

You aren't going to get much for 150 though

Yeah I know but that is the whole point of the name. It is for fun basically so I will pay for what I get in the end. Just as long as I put two GPU's in I am fine about it.

I'd suggest you simply save your money, if you weren't going to reuse the 360 for the build then just get a really cheap APU build going that'll do 720p gaming well

I am not saying for gaming. I just want to have some fun building a cheap pc that was high end many years ago.

I would go the dumpster diving route then

Build a intirely new Computer from scratch... if you have any budget.

Well my budget is up to £150 so I am not looking to be playing/doing everything at high settings since I want to build a PC from much older Hard ware but is able to be put into Crossfire/SLI and so on.
