4690K or 6500 CPU?

Im looking to build a gaming computer for the first time however i am not sure which CPU would benefit me in gaming partnered with a GTX 960. Would the 4690K haswell or the 6500 Skylake CPU be better. Please note that i will also be using this computer for video editing and possibly some background live streaming whilst gaming.

either save up for an i7 or buy a xeon 1231v3 which costs the same as the 4690k

if OC:

6600K OR 4690K (the latter is cheaper)

 

if not OC (repost if you will)

6500 OR 4460 (the latter is cheaper)

The 1230 v5 would be better for 10$ more.

the skylake one?

those require a special server motherboard

 

not regular consumer socket like haswell xeons did

Hmm... get the 6500 and hop onto DDR4 already. You don't really need OCing with that GPU anyway.
