So, Ive had a DisplayPort (Active) to HDMI cable laying around for awhile, so I thought to myself to take advantage of it, so I bought a new 27" monitor, on black Friday. Thinking, HOLY SHIT, Ill have 3 monitors. Well I was sorely mistaken. As soon as I got the monitor I plugged that SH** in. Only to find that only two of my displays would work at one time. Even after trying to create an eye finity display group, it still only recognized 2 monitors. But when I went into the CCC (Catalyst Control Center) I was able to see, that it was in fact detecting all three monitors, but to no extent would it let me select all 3 and extend the monitors.

Monitors: 2x Dell 2405FPW 24" monitors

1x Acer 27"G276HL

Graphics Card: Radeon R9 270 (Asus)

Try plugging one into your igpu?

Because you sure as hell don't have the horsepower to game on all 3.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I used to game on five monitors with a 6950

Im not trying to game on all three. I know my card isnt capable of running games that I play on all three. But I am trying to get it to run just all three monitors, and have my main 27" monitor play games. Which I know it can handle.

As others have mentioned, try using the onboard graphics (if you have them)

Yes, Ive tried many combinations.

Hmm... Short of buying a cheap used low power GPU, I do not know. I used to run three DVI monitors on a 7950, and they all ran WITHOUT an active converter. Eyefinity worked too.

When you tried the other monitors on the adapter did they work? If not then the adapter is probably ded, easiest thing to do there is to get another adapter. If one of the other monitors worked with the adapter then you could just try a driver reinstall with a driver version older than the one your currently using. If you do that be sure to use Display Driver Uninstaller, you can find it on Guru3d.com. Be sure to follow all the instructions including booting into safe mode when removing the old driver.

oh lord the textures must have been horrible.

GFX maxed on all the games I owned at the time. Which was portal, portal 2, garry's mod, and minecraft. So ya. Probably should have put the 100$ into monitors, not 3 freaking adapters

But every time I plug in the third monitor, windows does its little black screen thingy, like it is switching to a new display, but then my 3rd monitor just goes back to sleep. And then I am stuck with only two working.

That happened to my monitors when I used DP for my primary, only 2 would work at 1 time.

So I used HDMI instead, works fine.

I know what your problem is.

Are you using Win10?
