Mini display port or full sized displayport

swek

Is there a difference other than the size? Will using a mini worsen quality or something?

Either is fine.

In monitors, though, full size is much more common.

Woo!

What are you trying to power? Type of monitor, resolution etc? I think Mini DP might have some restrictions with 4k and 144hz monitors.

careful, mini dp, like reg dp, have different iterations. specs depend on the iteration.

Just go with the newest full size DP if you can.

No go with the newest one, but the size doesn't matter...

It doesn't, it's just a different shape connector. Early DP 1.1 devices aren't capable of 4K 60Hz, but that's all DP 1.1 devices. The connector shape doesn't matter.
