Which is faster? the wd black, or the seagate sshd?

I was wondering which was faster the wd black or the seagate sshd. I just want to play games and boot fast with the price to performance of an hdd not an ssd.

If anyone has dealt with this type of thing before it'd be a lot of help, thanks.

The Black would be faster for loading games. The sshd would be snappier for general use since it would automatically cache data--usually the OS.

I have a Black and it's hella quick, even for a HDD. Just sayin'.

Also, a warning: it's also hella loud.

It depends, although for booting and games the WD Black should be faster. The SSHD is faster for loading smaller things constantly (most the time), so it would be good for photos and music.

Yes, it's the same technology but either should last longer than the average user should ever need it to. The hdd portion is more likely to die first.
