Ok long story turned semi short. I changed my brand new gpu's fan profiles and (OPPPS) set them to like SUPER low by mistake. I then ran furmark (with a stupid high oc and voltage) and wouldnt you know it, my temps hit 101c on the gpu. Not for 1sec either. I went to take a crap when the test started (assuming all would be fine) and when I came back temps where at 102c. So lets assume it sat in the 100c range for a good min or 2. I have since fixed my mistake and the card seems to be running fine.l I have tested many games including bf3/metro/dota/sc2 and there all running fantastic. No artifacting or crashing or anything weird. My temps are also looking good averaging 55c-65c in games to 75c-78c in furmark. So the card "seems" fine. My question to all you fine people is. Did those few minutes at 100c screw my card over? Is it going to die in a few days now? Did I fry something? Or did all I do with that stupid mistake is take a week or 2 off the cards lifespan? As I said the card "seems" to be running fine with hours spent in games since the incident without issue. <3 you all and be nice lol. I know I made a whoopsie :P

The cards a 7950 from sapphire

If it was only a minute or two don't worry about it. Most chips can handle high temps for short amounts of time (Most Nvidia chips have a max temp of around 100C, not sure about AMD)

Test the card using 3d Mark, if it runs ok you are good to go...just don't do it again!

I have done the same thing before but with a 550Ti. It worked great for the rest of the time I had it.

If it was too hot it would have shut down.

I think the TJMax for recent GPUs is 110 so you're fine.

+1, but i dont recommend finding that tjmax. if its to hot, it will shut down.

Dont understimate my skillsz, you might look foolish.

Should be fine I mean when a card gets old and the soldering on it messes up a bit you can "Bake it at like 200 degrees celsius so it should be fine.
Yeh wouldn't be a pretty site with a 200c card in your machine but the fact that you can cook it and then let it cool and it will work after is what I was trying to get at XD

The first step to insanity is believing in your sanity.
