DVI-D vs Display Port

fluffybunnyhappyrainbow

I have a DVI-D cable connecting my monitor to my GPU currently. Will switching to a Display Port cable improve my picture quality in any way?

The only benefit you'll experience, is that it is easier to plug in and out, and is a smaller connector.

What it does offer, assuming you have the display, is: higher resolution support, access higher refresh rate (again, assuming compatible monitor), at more colors (assuming you have the hardware, software, and display for such support). It also allows audio to the pass through, like HDMI, and because the data is sent in packets like Ethernet, it can be merged with other connector technologies like: USB 3.0/3.1 with the Type-C connector, or Lightning connector.
