R9 390 with FX 6300

TurnipMaster

So my current PC has a 630 W PSU, a GTX 760 from EVGA, and an FX 6300. And i want to play GTA V at max settings and the 2gb 760 doesn't do it. And I know a 6300 will bottle neck an R9 390 but if i upgrade my CPU it wont solve the problem. Any ideas?

It will probably run with your FX-6300, but in my case i experienced a 40%-Performanceloss to a "proper" CPU like a 4790k or 6700k (to be implemented in my Rig soon).

Your CPU won't bottleneck it hardly at all if you OC it to around 4.2Ghz. Though, I would consider saving up for a new CPU after you buy your new GPU anyways.

I used to be quite active here.

That CPU will not do you well.  If you want nice performance it is important to go at least to an i5-4460 + B85 mobo which will work very well with a 390..

How are you going to get a 390, and replace your motherboard, CPU, and Ram for 500?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I know, but why would you buy Skylake to use DDR3 ram?

also i dont need new ram. I dont have to go DDR4

If you buy a Skylake processor, you "should" go with DDR4. Intel advises the use of DDR4 or DDR3L ram, and no one know the effects the extra voltage will cause on the CPU. But with love and respect, it's *expletive deleted* to buy a Skylake processor and not take advantage of the MAJOR advantage of a Skylake processor. As Mohenjo wisely advised go Haswell.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
