How can i start using my hard drive?

Hi i have samsung 250gb ssd as boot drive and want my wd blue 1tb hdd as storage. I did something in disk management so i can see both on my computer but how do i download stuff on the hdd? It downloads on ssd automatically :(

 

please help

Main: Gigabyte G1 980Ti, i5 6600k, MSI Z170A M5, 16GB DDR4 2666, NZXT H440, NZXT x61, EVGA 750W G2, Windows 10 

 

Second PC: EVGA Reference GTX 680, i7 2700k, 16GB DDR3, Corsair 300R, Corsair CX500W, Windows 10

 

Laptop: Acer Aspire 5750G, GT540M, i7 2630QM, 6GB DDR3, Windows 7

When you say Downloading stuff I assume you mean downloading in your browser, in which case you'd need to change the default download location in your browser settings.

Yeah downloading programs from internet and games from like steam

Yup you just need to change your browser settings to point to the new drive (or even ask you where you want to save each time).

 

For Steam you'd need to change the game library in the client settings -> Downloads -> Steam Library Folders

Ok im using google chrome and i cant find that setting but will it just create a new steam folder on the hdd then?

On Chrome if you go to the settings page, click "Show Advanced Settings", then scroll down to "Download" you can set the download location.

 

With Steam it just makes a new folder and adds it to the list of install locations.
