Are notebook battery packs worth the investment? Are there things that make it not worth the money?

If they didn't work then I wouldn't consider them worth the money. Same for if they didn't last for very long.

 

I would only go for one if there were a good amount of positive reviews about it and bad reviews were extreme cases.

Like an external battery pack right? I would say that it's not really worth it for a Laptop, but for phones, tablets, small electronics, I couldn't live without one.

Yup. I have one for my smaller devices, but I was wondering if there were any decent ones available for notebooks as well.

You're better off just getting an extended battery pack, or a second battery and a dock charger.
