New build

Go to solution Solved by Bazilias,

Hi guys!

I've put together this build and I'd really appreciate your help and ideas about it! The form factor and the Mini GPU are intentional. :)

Thanks for the fast replies!

I'm planning an SSD upgrade for later down the road, of course. :) My budget is pretty much maxed out with this for now. About that R9 - I'm planning to use it with Linux mostly (or hopefully switch at some point) and nVidia's drivers seem more reliable.

Could you tell me a bit more about the differences between the two motherboards? I felt that the one I picked wasn't exactly right, but couldn't tell why :)

What is the definition of "way more"?

I'm asking because I don't think it has "way more performance".

960 and 380 are somewhat at the same price-point (380 even cheaper I think) and you'll get a 10FPS increase for your money compared to the 960. and if that from 60 to 70 that's a pretty big increase

Prices can differenciate a lot. Here in Germany the 960 is usallally a lot cheaper than the 380 and 380s make almost no sense to buy, if they aren't on sale.

Then the 380 can only achieve higher average frame rates, but is usually not as stable when it comes to minimum frame rates.

And then there is also the driver optimization for Maxwell and the large overclocking potential.

Currently I would always buy a 2GB GTX 960 over a 2GB R9 380 here in Germany. With the 4GB cards it's a different story.
