What do I do? 980 Ti or wait for 1000 series?

Yeah i would go for a 980Ti :D. it'll do good for now, and if pattern is anything to go by you should at least get "GTX 1070-1080" performance out of it. so it'll still be good.

I'm starting to get that dreaded upgrade itch again. My main reason for wanting to upgrade is the fact that TW3 is totally destroying my gtx 780 @ 1440p. However, pascal is supposed to be awesome and it would suck upgrading to the 980ti then having pascal launch six months later.

What should I do?

Waiting never ends. Pascal should be great, but do you want to wait another 6 to 12 months?

Waiting a year would be unbearable. I was hoping it wouldn't be longer than 6-8 months.

Well, it might be early next year, but if you want to play games now at like ultra and stuff get it now. I got a 980 ti now because I built my first computer and I didn't want to wait.
