Pc just won't boot

Hey guys I've looked everywhere for help but to no avail. My pc just won't boot I've tried removing the ram fiddling with everything. Until it worked for 5 minutes as I was downloading software then it shuts it's self down and restarts then it shuts down during the restart and doesn't power back on I used the jumper to see if the mobo is broken it all powers on fans and everything. Just won't turn on and I've checked the cables nothing looks like it's shortening out.

P8H67 mobo

I5 2500

Gtx 970 windforce

Corsair 750m

8gb rip jaw

Corsair h100 cpu cooler

Yea apparently it may be my motherboard but the thing is this has happened before then it starts working again I use to take everything out of the mobo then just reinsert it and it would work

Ahh.. Sounds to me like you're overheating. could be wrong, but that's kinda what happens when you are.

Boot into the Bios and monitor everything for a few minutes. and see what happens.

Can't power it on to get into the bios.. If you watch the video I don't even get hdd activity light it sucks so hard right now aha I really appreciate any help guys

Why are you using Molex to 6 / pin power for the GPU?

What happens when it shuts down? Do you get a BSOD or any messages or does it just black screen or something else?

Hey buddy it just shuts down with no message what's so ever

heatsink misaligned. cpu gets too hot.

 

pull graphics card and hook to mb until you get through this.

I thought that too but I'm watching it in the bios and it doesn't get above 40

40 is hot, especially with the h100.

 

you are using thermal paste?

So is that what you suspect is the problem cause I thought that and I took off the heat sink and applied new thermal paste and it didn't change anything

and while i'm thinking about it. maybe the system needs to be burped? tilt box over and then raise it back up.

 

to answer your other question..... which brings me back to the heatsink not being properly installed.

 

next thing would be a cmos reset. perhaps the voltages go screwed up somewhere along the lines?

Hmm the only way it turns on is if I use the jumper and quickly switch it back to the power switch and then turn it on

pull the board and rebuild. mb might be shorting. didn't forget standoffs did you? the board does use standoffs? or are they 'bumps" on the motherboard backing plate?

 

have a spare PS?

I'll give it a go and yes it has stand offs. I recently just bought a new case and that's when I started to have issues again

And the psu makes clicking noises when it shuts down

keep an eye out for high solder points in the back of the board where they might contact the motherboard tray. electrical tape works as a good insulator.
