I've been looking to upgrade my PC and now that Black Friday comes around it's the perfect time.  There's a GTX 970 for $290 plus a $30 MIR.  I also wanted to upgrade my case and motherboard, which have good, but not great deals at the moment.  To do both is out of my budget so I'm looking for ideas

You can get a GTX 970 at EVGA B-Stock for 250$ with a 1 year warranty and if you ever have to RMA it chances are EVGA will send you back a GTX 980.

Or you could get a powercolor R9 390 for a very similar price... As for mobo and case do really need a new mobo, the PC mate is perfectly fine :P and the case can be acquired at a later date.

If you want better gaming, get the GPU.  I saw a 970 a few days ago for $250 (but I had just bought 2 EVGA SSC's for $280 each on Oct. 28, otherwise I would have went for it), so the retailers are getting more aggressive with GPU sales.

Cases are for when you have money to burn (unless you do a lot of tinkering or modding, in whiche case (pardon the pun), a good case can make a big difference from a crappy one).

Keyboards - are very dependent on how crappy the one you have now is.  A bad keyboard can really make computering unenjoyable.

There will always be something better or cheaper down the road (at least until we hit the limits of technology), so...

With a limited budget, figure out what would put the biggest smile on your face and go for it.  If that means waiting a while and paying less, a smile is a smile. :D

I'm all about maximizing your smiles per dollars ratio
