Due to limitations of the size of my room, I am building a new desk to replace my old oak table. It will be 24in deep. It will span the whole wall. I plan on having three monitors on the bottom and a fourth above those on a custom made stand. I am not sure if I can put my PC on the desk still. I used to have it behind the monitor (I havent gotten my 3 new ones yet) and I could not see the gloriousness that is my PC. With a more shallow desk, I cannot put it there. Should I have it beside the three monitors? If I do, I can see it better, but headphones cable lengths might be an issue, as well as the power button and stuff being quite far from where I sit. I can also put it next to where my chair is on the floor, but it will collect dust much faster there. I currently have it on the floor, and I do like being able to set my controller and headphones on top of it. I have a derpy old side panel underneath it so it can breathe. Another problem with it being on the floor that I had in the past was cable length. PC to the right of me and the leftmost monitor rarely agreed on cable length.

Thoughts? Beside the monitors or on the floor? Or build a wall PC? No wall PC, the one who must be obeyed does not like things on the wall.

Is having the power button far from you really that big of a deal?
You only use it to turn the PC on. I imagine you could hit it on your way to the chair, no? ;):P

I'd stick it on the desk. Any cabling issues are easily solved with longer cables.

When the space between my chair and the desk is too small to even move the chair, and the button is on the top, and I get into the chair from the left, yes :P

I guess the shallow desk fixes this issue...

Mah 400+ watt machine needs to breathe!

Make air vents in the front of the drawer and vent air out that way. You could probably get ideas for how to manage airflow like this from server racks where each module is flat like the shape of a drawer and air is pushed in a straight line from one end to the other.

Don't do drugs. Do hugs!
