PCIe Lanes and GPU

Hello,

 

I have a i7-4790K and I am planning to upgrade to an SLI configuration from the single card that I already have for the GPU. A question came up in my mind and I realized that I had a PCIe network card (TP-LINK TL-WDN3800) installed.

 

I know that Nvidia GPUs require 8x PCIe 3.0 per card, and since a 4790K supports up to only 16 lanes.

Does anybody know whether SLI will work even with the network card attached?

The motherboard will have a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot which runs through the PCH. If it uses a PCIe x1 slot, that also runs through the PCH.
