Does anyone know if i buy the SuperFibre50 package now, (its 4.99 including calls, thats a friccking deal!), will i get upgraded to the 70mbps one?

Im so confused.

I talked to a guy on chat, and he said yes, but i think he thought i was an existing customer....

I am no Virgin employee but I'm sure they pay a lot of money to hire people to answer these questions for you online :P  So why not ask them on their chat support?

i have tried, but he said to contact the sales team, and they arent on chat... only phone, and i really cant be bothered to do that...  :P

No, there is no 70Mb/s package now, only 50, 100, and 200.  I believe if you buy the package now you won't get the free upgrade to the next tier, you have to have had it before October.

I have 150Mb plan and it's shit. Can't play youtube from 17:00 and only youtube. They throttle it. In the contract it explains that they have the right to downsize the speed 2x but for youtube video even 5Mb would be enough so yeah... Not happy customer.

P.s. that's through Ethernet cable

Have been happening for 3 years. I had 30mb plan upgraded to 150mb when moved and stil same shit. My 30mb would perform better after 17:00 than this 150mb so don't believe everything they say. Until they change it there is a throttling problem

The only time they throttle me is when I'm on peer-to-peer networks, other than that, they never touch the downstream.

Maybe the next time they do it, give them a call and tell them you don't give a shit what your contract says, you want the speeds you pay for and within the region you are estimated. (they'll soon suck your dick when you threaten to leave)

My network logs say differently

Let's have a look then.  VM's website says they don't throttle download speeds at all, I certainly haven't been throttled at peak times when using all my bandwidth.

Well, I'm not saying they don't throttle you, but they throttle me

Albeit it's only occasionally, they still do it.

They don't throttle download speeds.

That's what I thought... Apparently they do.... If they do, I'm gonna complain go them tho... Because they advertise no throttling for downloads....

They do upload tho... And for torrenting, that's not good...

They don't throttle downloads at all.  They do slightly throttle uploads but how does that affect torrenting at all?  Only matters if you're seeding.

Just go onto their chat support, ask them "Do you throttle download speeds at any time for any reason", if they say no, screencap it. If they do it, complain and you have evidence that they lied = FREEBIES or bye bye contract

Read the terms of use :D they have the right to throttle from 16:00 to 23:00 and all weekend. When I read that shit I got amazed that this kind of shit is legal

Wow... Then they are lying... Because on their thresholds page, they say they don't limit download speeds in any way.... Only for packages under 20...
