Hello All,

I am going to build a rackmounted server that can run about 10 minecraft servers (looking to put in data centre ). I am looking for about 32gbs of ram and ssd storage, and a redundant power supply. My budget is $1100 USD if anyone can help me out with some specs that would work with this idea that would be great.

Hello All,

I am going to build a rackmounted server that can run about 10 minecraft servers (looking to put in data centre ). I am looking for about 64gbs of ram and ssd storage, my budget is $1100 USD if anyone can help me out with some specs that would work with this idea that would be great.

How many people per server? What are you going to be doing on the servers?

Not exactly true, getting 64gbs of ram is normally about $200 - $350 so it is not too bad. In Australia that is.

That i am not exactly sure at this point ( i know that does not help you out to much) i am guessing they will probably be running (hoping) 50+ players, i will be including tekkit classic and maybe some vanilla modes such as sg, factions.

I wouldnt do it I mean youll buy it and then a year later youll be bored of it. A decent pc can handle a server also 50 players?

I am going to be using it one way or another, it will be minecraft until i decide to give it up. But there are other uses for a server like this other games i can put on it.

50plus people with tekkit and more... damn. You might be better getting a few smaller servers with about 10-15 people per server.

it is going to be multiple servers, you have to also include mysql, multicraft ect i agree 64gbs is over the top but i wuld like expandability. I have had this money set aside for about 6 months and i would like to do the best job of spending it as i can.

lol no

Learn from others mistakes. Don't put a GPU in a server.
