I've been thinking of either building a new computer or upgrading my current one.

Components:

CPU: Intel i7-2600

Memory: 8Gb of who knows what brand of RAM

GPU: GeForce GT 530

and the rest no idea

The build is http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/k3RX8d

Is this system worth upgrading or should I just buy a new computer all together?

SNIP

Depends what the PC is for, the least you need to do is upgrade that awful graphics card if you want to game

your current rig is still okayish, the 530 is a piece of trash so just get a really good graphics card and your PC will be ok

Yeh, I play a lot of games and I really want to get into the newer titles like Witcher 3 and such.

Who just a GPU and RAM upgrade really let me run those games at about 60 fps?

yea, the i7 is still considerably good. you will get easy 60fps on 1080 with a 390.

Replace the Pure Rock cooler with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and you should be good with cooling. You could also take out the case on the list if your current one has good airflow.

So replacing a $45 AUD cooler with a $55 AUD cooler that is essentially the same is a good idea?

Isn't the 212 evo cheaper?
