U2414H, Is it a good buy?

Go to solution Solved by Daveeede,

I've been using one for over a year and I love it. Looks great and offers really good connectivity with usb 3.0 passthrough. The only regret that I have with this monitor is that I didn't buy a second one.

As for any bugs, the only one I was aware of was that Nvidia cards were producing a limited RGB output instead of the "Full 0-255" output... or something like that. But there were easy work arounds and I'm pretty sure it's been fixed now anyways.

Hey guys,

So this thing of monitors has been a true headache for me this days, so much options and don't know what to get

This one Looks good for 1080p, DELL U2414H has some good ratings and reviews and the ultrasharp thing looks nice. NOthing can be compared like seeing it like yourself but in the shops here almost all sell AOC I can't expect to have something this quality.

You have any other suggestions? this will be powered by a GTX 970 SSC

Also, Someone said that the LG ultrawide looks great but don't know how well the games will handle that wide.

Thanks!

Yes, the Ultrasharp's are always a good buy.  The U2414H is a slight revision of the 23" version, U2311H and U2312HM.  All are IPS displays and pretty decent for the price. @michaelz93

You'd probably be buying into for the ultra slim bezels (I think their the slimmest of any monitor) if you're not too bothered about that you could get a monitor with more features

I picked up one of these lately, I've found it to have great colors(Is my first IPS panel) and the thin beezles are sooo nice.

Did you had any issues in a bug I have read about detecting it as a HDTV?

Actually I'm buying it for the IPS display and DP port. In my country DP is not so known so I'm trying a good Monitor in my 200$ budget... give or take couple more bucks there.

The bug has already been fixed in recent NVIDIA drivers. If not, the only issue was the detection of default settings, they can be corrected manually in a few clicks.

I got the Dell too. Great monitor, planing on using it for a triple setup. The ips panel is the best I have seen on 1080p monitors and I have looked at a tone before getting the Dell.

There is issue with daisy chaining multiple U2414H. And if you have Nvidia GPU after each driver update, you right click > Nvidia control panel > Change resolution >  set "output dynamic range" to Full, but that`s more Nvidia drivers issue and not specific to this monitor.
