Didn't he drop out? I don't see how it is even remotely relevant as it clearly wasn't for him.

To do what Linus does you don't need a college degree. There's no university that specialises in building computers. You will need to go to college if you want to literally make computers, and for that I'd suggest electronic engineering. If you want to create software then go to computer sciences/computer engineering (or whatever it's called). But if you just want to build them for costumers or make videos on youtube then none of that will help.
