Hey everyone,

I have a (theoretical) build and plan to buy on Black Friday. Here it is.

PCPP link http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tqVyhM

Essentially, it's:

  • i5 6600k
  • cryrorig h5 ultimate
  • msi z170a m3
  • 16g hyperx ddr4
  • msi r9 390
  • evga supernova nex 650w
  • nzxt source s340 black/red

I have storage drives.

I'm wondering what the savings will be like on Black Friday for these items e.g. nearly no discount for 6600k probably.

Also, I've chosen to go for a skylake build because of sata express and future proofing. Is that the right decision? (over a 4690k)

Thanks very much

Don't rely on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I waited for both of those last year for my build. The deals were disappointing. Barely any discounts. I don't know if I was looking at the worst places (tiger direct, newegg, frys, and amazing), but I was devastated so I just bought my PC lol.

Especially with you choosing Skylake which recently released not so long ago, you won't be seeing any discounts

Thanks very much

Do you live near a microcenter? Your processor is 40 bucks cheaper if so.

As for the other parts, usually on black friday you shop for what is on sale, what you want may not change price at all, but if you are flexible with other parts you might be able to save a some cash, and yes you could keep the red black theme with the changes.
