I know that I should have asked about this maybe several months ago when Windows 10 was released but here I have it.

This is mainly about my GPU overclock, but I'm wondering if Windows 10 (or operating systems in general) has anything to do with me not being able to achieve the same overclocks than before.

Before, on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, I was able to achieve a nice +114 core Mhz and +425 memory Mhz on my GTX 750 Ti, EVGA Superclocked edition. It ran almost perfectly fine and I never had any crashing due to the overclock other than BF4 crashing out because of the infamous device hang error. (But then I would reboot the game with the same overclock and be on my way without any worries).

Now in Windows 10, I am having big troubles even dialing in a modest +93 core Mhz and +300 memory Mhz. Lots of times I'm crashing out of games, Firestrike and everything of the sorts. Before anyone asks, I tried to do these overclocks in the same driver version as the one I used in Windows 7 and when that didn't work, I updated to the newest one. Right now, I am running the 358.87.

Now, I do realize that this problem could possibly be attributed to the fact that this card does not require an external PCI-E 6 pin or 8 pin and maybe it simply has a lack of power to power the overclock, but I think this is unlikely since I had no trouble running the overclock in Windows 7.

So if anyone has any answers or even better, some tips or recommendations or solutions to help me get my overclock again, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, also drivers can as well.

It's most likely the driver that is the issue, not the OS.

Try 353.62 and 350.12 and see if your max OC works again

Alright, I'll try them again, but I'm pretty sure those are the drivers I used when Windows 10 first came out and I was trying my OC...

Drivers like 353.62 are for Windows 8.1 and 7... will they work for Windows 10?

I have certainly seen in the past close to max overclocks of cpu's show problems on linux when windows and games worked reliably. I have also seen different driver versions support different gpu overclocks. If you are that close to the edge that gpu driver versions are causing issues then back off your overclock, its not stable.

Interesting, I uninstalled the "GTX 750 Ti" in device manager and then I ran the installer for 353.62 and when it was checking for comparability etc. it said the version of Windows (Windows 10) was not compatible
