So, I want to buy a core i5 4460, and im just asking for the heck of it but will four pin pwoer be fine for it? It is in the mobo compatibility list however the mobo only has 4 pin power. I want to make sure this will work. I plan on gaming and the most CPU intensive game is either far cry 4 (or primal once its out), or Battlefield 4, I dont want to edit videos or do stress tests or anything.

H81M - e33 mobo

430W power supply

r7 250 GPU (will upgrade)

8GB DDr3

Thanks!

Like Austins extremely cringe worthy of trying to get an 8 pin EPU power on the Scrap Yard Wars video... A a 4 pin is WAY more than enough power

The PSU is CX430? I would change it first. Then you can get the 380/390

No need to worry. (I guess you've watched Scrapyard Wars)

The 4 pin power connector will be just fine.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. You can use 4 pin cable in a 8 pin connector, just make sure you plug it in the right way(unlike Austin in scrapyard wars). Out of the 8 pins, it should only fit in one side of the connector.
