I want to trade my old PC for a gaming laptop, about 3 hours away. Does anyone have *any* ideas for dealing with him?

That's an option. Not sure how we would test the equipment though.

Laptop should be easy to fix, look around in a town that is 90 minutes away and see if a place will let you bring it in.

Like others have said try to meet somewhere in between the both of you.  If you live in shady area might be wise to meet him somewhere publicly, maybe even a police station lol you never know.
