You have a non-k cpu so you don't need a z97 mobo or a watercooler, also a 390 would perform just a tad better than the 970 you have now.

Ive made a few changes to the previous build i had posted. Just wanted to make sure everything would work and was worth it. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TPjvrH If you have any suggestions please tell me, although im not trying to go over $1200. 

you dont really need 16gb of ram and please get a better PSU, for example a 620W seasonic one
