Get a CX, it's better than this.  Never trust any PSU that's less than $40 for 500w TBH.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.

  • 1 month later...

Edit: Oh, just noticed this was posted last month...So price may have change... -sigh- Sorry.

That TS Bronze 550w you just linked to on Amazon is even more of a bad deal (based on the lower-end S12II-B design), ATM. While it does offer better capacitor choice, the RM series offer full modularity, a more quiet operation, and significantly better voltage regulation. If it's was the TS Gold, then that would be a better unit - minus the modularity.

But they are indeed both poorly price, considering how you could get the the EVGA Supernova 550w G2 for $90 shipped. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1184173&gclid=CPmwqrXL9MkCFQ8zaQodDZwH7Q&Q=&ap=y&is=REG&A=details

is the cx600m compatible with skylake?

It's not officially "compatible", as the methodology to test it that Intel used is based on a very extreme, unlikely scenario in the real world. Usually it shouldn't be an issue, but if you encounter shut downs because of it, you should be disabled the sleep state in the BIOS

If you haven't gotten the PSU, though, why that save yourself the hassle and just get a proper, quality PSU in the first place?

Btw, don't bump up old threads, as it may cause some confusion like it did to me above.
