Yeah I'm looking for an alternative to Time machine (Which is used on Mac OS) for windows 10

If anyone knows free (or "free") software, that'd be helpful

Thanks

"backup" and "File History" feature in windows 10?

That doesn't allow me to pick an external hard drive accessible over my wifi connection

I asked for an alternative to Time machine, not software to manually back up.

You can.

Just map the folder as a network drive "map network drive" tool in My PC

You're talking about the one at Settings -> Update & Recovery -> Back-up - right?

that and

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\File History

If you can't see your network folder in ethier of those 2 menus do this

then try agian

File History is actually closer to Time Machine.

Basically all I was looking for is something that backs up chosen folders to an external hard drive, which I can access over WLAN an LAN, every x hours. If my hard drive would get damaged or broken and loss of files occurs, I'd still have access to the files on chosen back-up drive.

Yup!. Map your drive, add the folders you want in a library or make a new library, and enable File History, select the drive, and how many time you want it to check for backup. It will make the latest version accessible for manual or outside recovery without anything special
