What panel type for gaming?

So, i want to buy a new monitor for gaming, and i know the basics: gsync/freesync, resolution and hz. Now, whenever i listen to a LTT video like today's, there are some things i realise i don't really know about. so, these are my questions:

more importantly: what are the different panel types, and which is the best for what

then; what does contrast ratio really means (what is 8000 and waht is the 1 in the 8000:1 on the top of my monitor)

and finally, wt* is color reproduction?

thanks in advance! ;)

for gaming, it can be either a TN or IPS panel, doesn't really matter. If you are gaming at fast paced then a TN monitor because it can support up to 144hz whereas the IPS equivalent is more costly.  But if you're doing editing associated with colour then an IPS monitor is the best option due to the better colour reproduction compared to a TN panel. But overall, I would choose an IPS over TN.

I think TN is better for gaming, however it appears to be that TN loses colors as you go towards the edge of the screen; and I personally don't want to take the risk of choosing a monitor that has tinted sides ;-;

But I also want mah 144Hz

Shipping sucks

IPS, because the response times are not noticeable to most people, not when stacked upon all the other latencies involved with computers, and you get so much nicer colour reproduction.
