Emulators and what not

I love old consols, but I love PCs more. I'm planning on downloading dolphin so I can play game cube games, cause that was the first console I bought.

I have controllers laying around my house, and I know you can buy a dongle and connect up to 4 controllers, so you and your mates can have a brawl, but I also love N64 and SNES and - well you get the point.

So I was wondering, Is there a dongle (or 5.25" bay) that has ports for all the old controllers? 

Worst case senario, I can either buy some extra dongles, and custom fabricate a side panell with openings for the ports, or I can buy USB controllers, so I can plug them into my front IO.

I just noticed I only wrote nintendo consoles. No that's not what I meant. I meant all old consoles. Those where the first examples that popped into my head...

That works only for gamecube controllers. What about other controllers (like N64, ps1&2, SNES, etc....)?

Depends on the emulator, I think most are plug and play  

 

I just use a 360 wireless pad for everything (or I just use the actual old console)

There's a bunch of retro style USB controllers (NES, SNES even MD/Genesys 6 button) on Amazon etc you can use that are around $10 each.

But they are all mushy and don't feel good to use 

You can get USB adapters for pretty much any of the old controllers. 

You're most likely going to have to manually configure the controllers, mapping each button yourself, but it's worth it in the end.

I wouldn't expect 10 dollar controllers to feel very good, especially compared to the actual original ones.

yes , even compared to the high quality controllers that were made FOR the console and cost much more to buy when they were new.

Not having a go but it's a bit of a sweeping statement.

I've tried many of them, but not all. 

The closest I have seen to being close to the original was an NES controller, and it was still quite mushy. 

It didn't impede gameplay, but it didn't feel good. 

All of them don't have the same clicky. It's like going from an xbox 360 controller to an xbox one controller. It doesn't feel the same, even though it looks pretty much the same.
