Go for the Sapphire/MSI R9 380 because they are one of the best cooling GPU's and because the R9 380 is simply better than the GTX960.

 

I have 2x MSI AMD Radeon R9 290X myself

Yeah, I'm a huge EVGA fanboy, but choosing an inferior EVGA 960 over a more powerful 380 is just retarded fanboyism.

If you got no problem with ambiance temperature then go for the hotter one. You could even use your PC as heater for the winter.
