Hi, so this is my build - i mean it's not a ground breaking, mind blowing build, but i want to share it.

The system specs

case:H440

PSU:Supernova G2 750

mobo: Maximus VII Hero

CPU: I7-4790k

CPU Cooler: Kraken X61

GPU: G1 Gaming GTX 970

Ram: 4x4GB Ripjaws X 1600

Fans: Thermaltake Riing 12 RGB

The Riing fans as you can see in the pictures are on 'extensions' as 440 have quite big edge for the window the fans were not in too good of a position - view wise.

So i took the original case fans - in this case FN120 V2 and stripped them down leaving only the frame.

Then I mounted riing 12 fans on the FN frames and mounted them on the chassis. and now they are nicely positioned and I didnt need to move my radiator. Yaay.

in the  video you can kinda see the brightness but the camera dont see the colors as saturated as they are in person.

They are  fairly quiet - while they stay below 70% they seem to be barely noticeable in a room. if you fave anything  else in the room like a tv or so the noise is non existing.

The fans are made to be put on radiators - i use then as an exhaust because of theire look.

and  brightness wise they are really good! I can see the light from the rear fan on my wall  with the lights on in the room so it is pretty good. They are not  over the tom . bleed your eyes out bright but they are  good balance of color and brightness.

can i hook each fan up to its own separate header on my fan controller or are they hooked up to the "controll box" and then to a molex power conector?

the one that i got was a triple pack with one hub (supports up to 3 fans but looks like you can dasie chain them) and then connects to your  motherboard PWM fan header and you can controll them there

or a molex to 4 pin and then you can choose between  performance (1500 rpm mode) and  silent 1000 rpm mode.

or you can buy single fans that come with a hub each and have every fan in a different color.

A word of caution - cables for the fans themselves arent too long. the ones i got are about  15 inches or so.

well you can connect the  header from the hub to your controller of choice.
