Hey guys, my friend wanted to build a gaming pc. He asked me to make a build for him, he said he wanted to atleast max current gen/next gen games on 1920x1080 single monitor He said he didnt want to overclock but its kinda waste on not overclocking in his budget.

this is the build that I made for him.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1uc7g

what you guys think about this build?

what is the safest overclock range with aircooling?

I was thinking on just pushing it to 4ghz.

and can you guys help me find an after market cpu cooler preferably from canadacomputers.com

his budget is around 1k-1.2k$.

Thanks!

edit - I'm getting all these parts from canadacomputers so please check the price breakdown by merchant 1st

Replace the CPU with an 8320, and some AM3+ board that's about $100 and put the money you saved into an SSD or put a bit more money into it and get a second 7970. And it depends on what you're willing to spend on a cpu cooler, Hyper 212 EVO, Noctua NHD14, H80i are the main CPU coolers I would recommend. .

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 @ Stock, CPU cooler: Dark Rock 4, Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX, RAM: 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 @ 3000Mhz, GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0, SSD: Crucial P1 1TB M.2 + 2x120GB SSDs, Case: Corsair 110R, PSU: Corsair TX650M, OS: Windows 10 64-bit.

Ah.

So, is 4ghz too high or too low for aircooling.

I don't think anybody can answer that right now. It all comes down to the silicone lottery, but 4GHz sounds reasonable

He really wants the case though.

I edited what I put, I didn't notice the Prodigy case at first.

So, is 4ghz too high or too low for aircooling.

4 ghz is easy. You'd have to be very, very unlucky to not hit that. You can hit 4.5 ghz using the Hyper 121 Evo depending on your chip.

Is the system built yet?

Ahh, alright. Edits: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1vsLd

Are you sure you're ordering everything from Canada Computers? There are more options if you expand your merchant choice.

Fyi, ignore the incompatibility thing with pcpartpicker. It's being stupid thinking the mobo has no sata ports.
