First Build

Hey guys!

I'm building my first PC, and i wanted to know your opinion on my selection of components, and I have a couple of doubts

CPU -    I7-6700k

MoBo - Asus Rog Maximus VIII lg115

RAM -  G.Skil Ripjaws V DDRR4 2400Mhz CL15 16gb(2*8)

PwSp - Corsair RM 850

SSD   - m.2 500gb 850 evo

VidCar-2 GTX 970 MSI

Screen-2 Dell P2416 23.8in QHD

Optic - LG internal blu-ray UH12NS30

Case - Phanteks Enthoo pro ph es614p_bk

Keyboard-LG g105

Mouse- Mad Catz r.a.t. 3

My budget is around 2500

This setup is 2528

I'm not intrested on very high end mouse or keyboard :)

My first doubt was if there was something that could give me a better performance for the same budget or equal performance for less cash

Also I wanted to know if I could run this on a EVGA superNOVA 650 GS instead of the Corsair850 as both are 5A,

Maybe I will drop 1 monitor, 1 Vidcard and use 8gb of G.Skill V to that cash for a laptop, would there be a lot of performance diference?

Would you recomend using Crucial 16gb DDR4 2133MHz or the 8gb of G.Skill V 2400MHz to save some cash?

If you could give me your opinions and advice I'd appreciate it

Thanks in advance

Regards

Don't buy two 970s, buy a 980ti.

I used to be quite active here.

Change the RM for an RMi or seasonic/evga.

Are you mainly gaming or editing/rendering

Get a single 980 ti instead of dual 970's

Mainly gaiming

I've read that sometimes dual 970's outperfom the 980's

The Vram in the 970's are going to become a limit to higher resolutions or more moniters

Your temps are going to be higher

maybe I'm wrong..... but I would stay as beginning with 8 gb of ram  and instead of 2 gtx 970 I would reaaally go with a 980ti

upgrading ram it's not the worst thing... whereas upgrading a gpu it's much worse!

as for psu I don't know sorry.... check on some calculator ....

which mobo are you speaking about? extreme? gene? hero? or?

Just a bit, for a couple of classes

The Vram in the 970's are going to become a limit to higher resolutions or more moniters

Your temps are going to be higher

plus there is no real expansion from dual 970s, whereas you can always upgrade by adding another 980 in the future.

With the cost of ram being what it is, its worth sticking with the 16 gigs over the 8, its only a little more money.

Other than that, you have a pretty nice rig there ... enjoy building it, its tons of fun.

By the way, why do you want the Blu-ray drive?

Dont bother with an Sli config if you can go for the next best card! Get a 980ti and it will perform better than 2 970's!

If you have the room for the hybrid, I highly recommend it. Order a fractal design Venturi hp12 pwm and put it to push air through the rad, and put a low noise adapter on the stock fan, or just remove it all together as the stock fan sucks

Yes, the 980's.. A 980 ti is a different ballpark.

Get a GTX 980ti instead of two 970's. Much better bang.

edit;

I see you changed to a 980ti, ignore my comment :)
