Can anything be better?

Silverfields

Can anything within this build be better than it already is? My budget is 3k. I'll be Gaming/Recording/streaming/rendering/editing/browsing on this build, so yeah.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/C9QHHx

Not sure if you can see it or not, but the graphics card is the MSI 980Ti Lightning edition.

If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me.

That's about it. Thanks in advance for all of the advice!

What capacity/how many?

Personally, I've got a 256GB version of its predecessor the SM951 but if you want balls to the wall performance go for a 512gb version

You could get away with a cheaper motherboard and spend more on storage. I'd recommend a mechanical drive or two in addition to the SSD as they are always useful.

Those are m.2 SSDs right? Are they that much better over a normal SSD?

You don't need that many case fans, btw. Seeing how you chose a define r5, you'll really only need 3 fans, otherwise you'll have to take the top off and lose a lot of the silence.

Edit: also, LTT proved that there's hardly any benefit from having many more than 2 case fans in a mid tower case.

.-. For some reason I thought the r5 had three 120mm slots in front. Woops xD

Haha, the case case itself comes with two pretty reasonable fans, so you'll really only need one more 140mm fan.

For the price of the 1TB Samsung 850 SSD, so can you get this instead:

Samsung 950 M.2 256GB, for OS and programs: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mzv5p256bw

WD Black 1TB, for games and such: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd1003fzex

WD Green 3TB, for mass storage: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd30ezrx

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

Yeah, whenever I have to open this computer, I want the case fans to match

Vain, I know.

I was just doing something quite similar xD

Is the WD Black fast enough? I want to make load screens for the MMORPG's I play take next to no time at all.

This is coming from someone on a Mac with a 500 gigabyte hard drive as its only storage xD

WD Black is fast enough, but if you need the speed so should there be room left on the m.2 for some stuff.

Probably useless for you... But you could consider higher frequency ram(2800mhz for example). 20 bucks more and you could get 2x8gb Ripjaws V series 2800 MHz ram. Looks awesome!

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

X99 supports quad channel memory operation so a quad channel memory kit is optimal.

M.2 4-lane PCIe 3.0 ssd offer up to 32Gb/sec as opposed to the 6 Gb/sec of a SATA III ssd.

The fans are not needed. Given the configuration the stock fans should offer enough cooling. If one really, really wanted more fans, another front fan would be all I would suggest. Adding any others would reduce sound dampening.

Personally I would look at a single monitor. But that's just me.
