4K vs 1440p

I got mine 4K monitor 3 days ago but my PC is not powerful enough to run games at 4k ultra 60 fps and I have to lower my settings to medium-high to get stable 60 fps.So my question is simple,what does look better,4K medium-high or ultra 1440p? I get 60 fps on both of those settings but I cant really decide which one I should use,any ideas?

Ultra 1440, resolution doesn't = picture quality and the detail settings will trump the res imo

Well if you can't tell the difference it doesn't really matter. Personally I'd lean towards 4K med-high as running in the monitors native resolution gives a better picture, but you'd need to try both. It might also be worth trying 1080p at ultra as that will scale perfectly on 4K, where as 1440p won't.

To answer your question, the only way to find out is for you to try it out yourself.  Whatever you prefer, you run with.  Have you tried overclocking your GPU yet?  What are your specs?

I personally prefer 1440p ultra,.
I've got a 1440p and 4k monitor sitting next to each other on my desk, and for games I prefer my 144hz 1440p monitor.

The diiference between 1440p ultra and 4k medium isn't enough for me to justify the low refresh rate.
