i have an ROG motherboard which has a keybot usb 2.0 port which allows customization of every key on the keyboard. should i plug the keyboard plug for the strafe into that port and plug the extra power cable in or should i just use one of the usb 3.0 ports and leave the extra power cable unplugged?

If there's one usb 3.0, all you have to do is plug that one in. If there's two usb 2.0 you plug both in. 

 

So you either use one usb 3.0 port or 2(2.0) ports.

keyboards usually just need a usb 2.0 port and it's also better to prevent any sort of driver incompatabilities since usb 2.0 is driverless.

 

just plug in the keyboard on the keybot dedicated port, the whole second power thing is entirely up to you whether you the usb passthrough on the strafe to work.
