Hello, My name is Nate :) I've done lots of research for a 1000$ build just saving up.

The Best price to performance is the GTX 970 MSI 4G graphics card.

My current monitor is the asus vg248qe Its overkill but if you can find it on sale during this black friday deals go for it the colors are fine and Having 144hz for you build will make it nice

Peripherals - Cheap 15 logitech keyboard is the way to go. Mouse- Logitech <3

CPU- Intel, right now i have to spend extra because i got a AMD CPU with a AMD motherboard  now i need both a new motherboard and new gpu just to be able to upgrade my graphics card.

Motherboard - spend around 100-130 on this to get a good one with features and everything necessary.

Hard Drive- Seagate Hard Drive/ssd combined thing

SSD- find a 240gb on craigslist for cheap to put the operating system on.

RAM- Corsair Vengeance  2x 4gb should be find get 2x8gb if you have extra on your budget

Case- Get one with ample room for upgrades in the future especially if you are wanting to watercool it later.

Tried to help hope some of this is useful

Listen, Smile, Agree.

Then do whatever the fuck you were going to do anyway

I agree with most of this, except for the GTX 970 part. IMO the R9 390 is much better price:performance wise.

I love Nvidea software , also you get benefits of shadowplay and some other nice features. guess it depends on what you like.

i could have come up with something that would be at or under 1000 cad, but i really don't think you should sacrifice and get anything less than this. the alternative is to get a cheaper monitor, which will be garbage (no adjustable stand, non-ips), a 2gb r9 380 which is not enough vram, and a 4460 cpu which is so close in price to a 4590.

you can also make it less expensive by getting a non-modular psu, which is terrible to work with in terms of cable management. the cad is so weak right now it's a shame...

edit:

if you still want a build for 1000 cad or less let me know...

edit:

i would buy the os from g2a or reddit software swap

Here you go. $1000, decent gaming computer. I could not fit a monitor in and get a decent GPU with it, so I'd just save up for one. Also, no Windows, which is around $100 CAD if you want to buy it new.

This won't be the best out there for rendering video, but the Xeon E3-1231 V3 is $100 more than that 4460.

I opted for 1x8 GB RAM in case you wanted to add another DiMM later, for Dual-Channel. If you want, you could just replace that with 2x4GB.

I used to be quite active here.

OK. Well, then that $1000 build that I listed is good for your money. No monitor included. Also, no Windows.

If you want to spend a bit more you could add either a Xeon E3-1231 V3 (to make it beast for video rendering) or change the GPU to a R9 390 (Better gaming performance.)

Both upgrades would be around $100 more.

I used to be quite active here.
