Best Anti-Virus software

So I've always been a strong user/supporter of Windows Defender. However recently I've been downloading "sketchy" files and Windows Defender doesn't have a single file search option, and I don't want to do a full system scan every time I torrent something. So if someone can recommend me some good free Anti-Virus I would appreciate it. (Also please provide proof that it's a good Anti-Virus)

The best anti-virus is not to download "sketchy" files in the first place.  Never needed any AV the past 7 years.

i think avast + malwarebytes is a fairly common combination.

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 > 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

I've just being using windows defender + malwarebytes + common sense for the last couple of years and have never had a problem.

"sketchy" + not playing for games = piracy... You don't have to use the word piracy for it to be piracy..
