Hey everyone, I have been thinking about upgrading my PC for a while now and then I thought to myself, ''what if I just build a new one?''. The main reason for this is because I am getting a bit bored of my current setup now, and really want to make a new build with the new MSI black and white components, because they are damn good looking ;)

My current specs consist of:

CPU: Intel i5 4670k

GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 770SC

RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance

and the rest are pretty generic, with stock fans for the case and cpu cooler (yes i know, i never got round to buying a decent cooler to OC).

The point is, it's getting to the point now where i'm struggling to run the newer games maxed out, so definitely want to upgrade, but will it be stupid of me to fork out the extra cash to start again with a new build, or am i just wasting my money?

I spent around £1000 on this build at the time, and I have friends looking for a PC that said they would take it off my hands for £600, maybe £550. I know i'm not losing as much as it seems since the parts are worth less now they have aged, but I guess i'm asking, is this a good enough excuse to treat myself to a brand new build. I'm trying to convince myself that it is, since I have this big urge to start over again, but part of me says i'm just taking a loss here when I could just throw a new GPU in there and call it a day.

Opinions would be appreciated here, I know there's not really a definitive answer since it is my money, etc etc, but I would just like to know what you guys would do in this situation. Thanks :)

@BJH follow topic

Just upgrade the GPU that's the only thing holding you back so it's not really worth a new build imo

You already have a pretty damn good build.  I would get a new GPU.  Something like an R9 390 or higher, and a CPU cooler .  What PSU do you have right now?

That's what i'm thinking, it seems like the smart idea, but that black and white build dream :( haha

I have a corsair cx600, probably should have mentioned that, my bad :) Was looking at the MSI GTX 980 Armor 2X. But if im not rebuilding, i would consider a 980ti ;)

I would definitely build a new power supply into your upgrade with the 980ti, CPU cooler and an SSD.

Okay, get a different power supply. CX is for office use. Get a good powersupply, get a 980ti and an SSD.

I would definitely build a new power supply into your upgrade with the 980ti, CPU cooler and an SSD.

I'm taking a liking to this psu, and it's fully modular  :) Do you know if it is any good?
