Decent Gaming build?

The z97 mobo is so i can upgrade to a unlocked cpu later on, plus the mobo is pretty cheap

If you won't run crossfire, get a good 500w psu and put an ssd in it

If you're getting a 4460, it will last a while.. So your next upgrade will probably be to a new platform, not to another 1150 socket CPU.

Also, I swapped out the PSU for an EVGA GS 650.. The RM series from Corsair is overpriced, and the GS right now is $80, instead of $104.

Oh, and after changing the PSU, I could afford putting a 4690K in there and keep it under $900!

The NEX G1 series isn't that great for a PSU. I wouldn't get it.

 

He wants to keep it under $900, so you could actually put that unlocked CPU he wanted in there without going over. Though, seriously, don't get a G1 PSU.

The price you are seeing is after rebates, i dont like to count those. You are probably right about the PSU though

did not know you cared about the color scheme, its simply a good mobo for a good price. i just wanted to fit an SSD in there because they really are nice

The price you are seeing is after rebates, i dont like to count those. You are probably right about the PSU though 

Sometimes rebates is the only way to save..

with rebates though you have to spend the money initially, and rebates fall through quite often. and if they do work you wont see that money for a month or 2

Well, it's mail-in. You send in the rebate and wait for the rebate. I've never had one fall through, and the longest it's taken is 2 weeks.

i've had a couple fall through and one that i completely forgot about come in 2 months later

decent yup but if its not to costly and your board can use it why not grab 2133MHz ram?

 

Also it even support over 2400MHz so grab the best! (unless cost stops ya)
