How do I download common sense? (I'm kidding).

I really asking the question from a system performance point of view instead of diagnosing malware / adware etc

Common Sense. ;)

I hate it when people say this. It is bollocks. Yeah okay you can have common sense, but why the hell would you want to worry about what you download all the time. Instead, you get a good AV and Anti-Malware and let that do the job.

For example, I am running SLI on my PC, but I lack the knowledge (or where to get it) on reviewing / analyzing crash logs

Ehh. It is £30 (or LESS) a year. I find that much on the floor.

If it's too much clunky an OS reinstall would be much better

Is looking at crash logs helpful in narrowing down a cause of failure?

If it simply hangs I don't believe something would be there in the logs
