I have an MSI laptop with an i7 core and a nvidia 960m. I keep getting a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, only when I'm playing CS:GO. The screen will freeze and make a weird noise for about 30 seconds then give me a blue screen saying an error happened and it says to look up machine_check_exception. It's very frustrating since it's caused me to get a cooldown multiple times. It happens every so often, some times I'll go a week without it, and sometimes it will happen multiple times a day.

Bare with me, I don't know anything about computers or tech stuff.

How would I do that?

use windows update to update everything, including the drivers and if that doesn't work. search up device manager in the start menu and you should see all of your devices. Click on your cpu and your gpu and right click and click install drivers.
