ASUS and Google Announce the OnHub SRT-AC1900 Router


The ASUS OnHub is simple to setup by using the Google On app . The app also displays network traffic, tests your Internet connection speed, and helps with troubleshooting. It can even grant remote management control to a friend or family member if there is someone you rely on for help.

Asus OnHub will be available in the U.S. for pre-order today, and in stores in the coming weeks and costs $219.

This seems like it will be great for everyone who has no idea how to use them, set one up, or needs one and will just use the bundled, pre-configured routers provided by ISP/RSP

 

For everyone else, 4 x LAN is almost a requirement.

I wonder how the original onhub and this compare to Apple's Airport Extreme. If the current gen airport extreme is as good as the previous gen, I would pick that over any onhubs.

Google Should Really sell a switch or something cause one LAN port is not enough.

 

Edit: Not enough for MOST people.

 

Chances are if you need more lan ports you are not the target audience for this router, besides getting one of those Netgear 5 port switches would suffice and may even be more convieniet
