V-Sync Lag

8enjicraf2

Hey Guys,

My friend told me that v-sync creates additional lag between you clicking and the gun shooting, if I limit the refresh rate to 60Hz does this still increase lag?

Also is it even noticable, gonna get CS:GO soon! :)

For CSGO you shouldn't touch V sync it makes the experience bad but for most otherwise V sync can help with screen tearing or coil whine

I would disable v sync and if you have amd limit your fps that way since that will prevent any tearing (FTRC)

Why? I have a 60Hz panel...

Normally you wouldn't be able to tell the difference when getting fps above your monitor's refresh rate, but CS:GO is an exception. For some reason 300 fps is very noticeable from even 100-150 fps for many people.

CS GO is no exception! You won`t notice the higher refresh rate on your display, but you will feel the game more responsive, because of the lower input lag. With v-sync off you are trading artifact free experience, for a more responsive gameplay. A few ms won`t mater in a SP game, but you need them in MP.
