Upgrading a 7950, what do you recommend?

Gix7Fifty

Right now it looks like th Asus Strix R9 390 @ $319 on amazon will replace it. Do you have a better option?

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

Ah, looks nice. Go for the 390, it's a pretty good card.

The MSI Gaming R9 390 for $330 plus $4 shipping with a $20 MIR to bring it to $314 would be my pick. I wouldn't trust Asus with how they screwed up their R9 290/290x.

I upgraded from the 7950 to a 970 (similar performance as the 390) and the overall performance increase is only in the range of 25-50%, depending on the game. In hindsight, I would just go all the way for the 980ti because it really is a small increase in performance (the 970) and not really worth the money unless you can sell your old 7950.
