Fitting AM2 cooler on AM1 CPU?

I'm looking to overclock my Sempron 3850 APU, and although the stock cooler has some head room, I'd like to use a bit beefier of a cooler. I don't have much money so i'm wondering if I can possibly fit an A socket or AM2 socket stock cooler onto the board I get (These coolers can support a TDP of around 65W)

I mean, FM2/3 and AM1/2/3 all share the exact same mounting layout I'm pretty sure.

Mmmmm, not really While AM2/AM3 use a backplate and four holes for screws, AM1 is relatively smaller and uses two "buttons" that you pess down on that latch onto holes in the motherboard

Using one of these with the fan broken off and heatsink removed:

And the casing of one of these:

To cool one of these: 

And it worked!

And it worked!

I took two quarters and a paperclip, taped them to the back of a fan, and put the fan on the heatsink. The entire thing has the wrong heatsink with the wrong screws with the wrong fan.
