Upgrading my Old rig Need Help

ok now only remaining is GPU

so i cant afford 390 or 390x in india

so which options do i have

 

 

then go with 970, it will last you at least for a year, then sell it and buy another one

in the end of 2016 much can change

hope you all are doing great

 

i have a problem

 

My rig is 

AMD phenom IIx4 940

msi 790Fx motherboard

4 gb gskill ram (1333)

saphire 5850 GPU

550 Tagan PSU

nzxt phantom case

 

i am planning to upgrade it i need some suggestions

 

i am from india and budget is almost 30k-40kINR ($460-$620USD)

 

i am using this pc for Gaming and photo &video editing

 

planning to use 2 monitors 1080P@60hz (gaming only on one screen)

 

no peripherals

i am upgrading because my motherborad is damaged (reason unknown even service center couldn't tell me) i repaired the mobo but it failed aging so am planning to replace the mobo only but i thought its time to move on

 

i am so confused to intel or amd

shoud wait for 380x or go nvidia

i am planning to run this pc more 3yrs at most

and i want to play all games @ ultra settings 1080P smoothly

 

any help is appreciated

Hello all

You'll want an i5 4460 or an 8320/e with actually a 970, because if I remember right, last time I checked in india at least, the 390 was priced way higher than the 970 for some reason.

 

Now if somehow you can get a 380x I'd do that, but I think the card is out just yet, if the 390 is the same price do that, otherwise get a 380 if it's signifigantly cheaper

You'll also probably want a new power supply as well

thanks for reply but i want unlocked version in intel i will overclocking in future (not much Lil bit)

thats true 390 is way higher priced in india

may be i will crossfire or sli

970 had some issues i heard thats why i am hesitating to get one

Unless you're getting a 144hz display the unlocked i5 won't really matter

Not really, DDR4 won't be worth it, but if skylake doesn't cost much more than haswell where you are might as well go skylake
