R9 390 vs R9 390X

RevoltTrain

How big of a performance difference is noticeable between a R9 390 and 390X? I'm looking to pick one up for my current system, retire my current GPUs, until I can afford a complete new system next year, which then I will throw the R9 390 into there and use my current PC as a back up PC with my current GPUs back in it. So, how big is the difference?

In simpler terms, 1250mhz 390 = 1200mhz 390x. Of course, it doesn't actually work that way. The difference between a 390x and a 390 is about 5-20%.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case

Get the GPUs when you replace the system.

The 7770s should still be fine

I'd be able to get the R9 390 as a Christmas present, I'd rather get the card as a present than pay for it down the line

You might be able to get them to put the money aside, or they give you the money, so you can buy your next PC in one piece.

You will probably get the GPU for slightly cheaper if you wait.
