GTX 960 MSI GAMING 4G

Mchedlo
Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

so I was surfing through Amazon

Refurbished should work and look exactly the same as a new product, however as it says, you only get 180 days of warranty not a full year (or more sometimes)

Where are you from?

so I was surfing through Amazon (as always) and found GTX 960 4GB for 200$. im planning on buying this card like two month but I have 150$ at this moment so im saving up more (1$=2.4x my currency). this one as you can see from picture, is REFUBRISHED. my question is, can i trust refurbished product? whats the pros or cons? i wanted to buy 960 with 2GB, but this refurbished costs same as 2GB and why shouldn't i buy with 4GB of Vram instead? :)) P.S bonus question: does any1 know how can i see details of item when im in "USED" category? cuz i only can ADD TO CARD and nothing else, cant see item or pics of it.

A new R9 380 4G would be cheaper and last longer

Refurbished means restored - so it should be restored to how it comes out of the box, but obviously has been used so is not guaranteed as long

Where are you from? you should buy from your local country where possible, bear in mind you might pay import tax/vat/duties etc and increased shipping costs

The 380 is 15% faster on average and properly supports DX12 giving it a bonus anwhere from 5-30% demending on game. Any Nvidia feature has an AMD equivalent not to mention the 128-bit bus is a massive bottleneck for the 960.

can i ask you what you mean by properly supporting DX12?  i meant like Geforce Experience and new feature which they offered with 950, (they said it will be on 960 too) which allows you to stream games and ur friend for example can play it from distance (PS vita stuff)

Nvidia chips except GM200 don't support A-sync compute - the feature in DX12 that gives AMD roughly 30% more frames during games. As for those features - they're probably going to take some more time and unless you have a shield device you don't really need an Nvidia GPU.
